However, research shows that an alternative approach emphasizing restoration and mediated victim-offender contact more effectively lowers reoffending. This research talk will explain the impact of victim-offender mediation on offenders and how mediation is more effective in learning the offender a lesson."

“Many people undergo joint replacement surgery, but some patients get a bacterial infection of the prosthesis. Unfortunately, current treatments are often not effective, which indicates the need to develop alternative approaches. Hence, this research investigated the effects of an interesting technique: heating up the prosthesis specifically and thereby killing the bacteria attached to it.”
